Visionary media enterprise establishes a premier cultural and entertainment destination in the British capital, advancing its mission to bring authentic Black and African storytelling directly to international audiences

Nigerian media powerhouse EbonyLife Group has officially expanded its international footprint with the grand opening of EbonyLife Place London, marking the establishment of a dedicated cinema and cultural center in the heart of the United Kingdom.

Located in the Nine Elms area along Wandsworth Road in south-west London, the newly unveiled facility is designed to serve as a vibrant epicentre for Black and African creativity, film culture, and community connection.

The launch event drew prominent figures from the arts, diplomacy, and civic leadership, including the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, alongside EbonyLife founder and Chief Executive Officer, Mo Abudu.

Speaking at the inauguration, Abudu underscored the critical need for independent spaces that honor the depth and diversity of African cinema, noting that the diaspora and younger generations of film enthusiasts deserve institutional platforms where their narratives are authentically represented.

The bespoke facility integrates multiple lifestyle and entertainment offerings, featuring the vintage-inspired Amani Auditorium alongside specialized dining venues, a social lounge, curated retail spaces, and an art gallery dedicated to showcasing African visual culture.

Industry stakeholders and cultural analysts have lauded the development as a monumental milestone for Nollywood and continental filmmakers, providing a permanent international home to screen premier African content, foster cross-cultural collaborations, and retain autonomous control over distribution narratives.
