EBONYI REPS MEMBER, NKEMKANMA KAMA, RESIGNS FROM LABOUR PARTY
Nkemkanma Kama, the member representing Ohaozara, Onicha, and Ivo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has officially resigned from the Labour Party.
The lawmaker announced his decision in a letter addressed to the party’s Ward Chairman in Amaze Ward, Ishiagu Community, Ivo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
Kama explained that his move came after “extensive consultations” with his family, political associates, and well-wishers. He said the decision was made in the best interest of his people.
“I wish to express my sincere gratitude to the Labour Party for the platform given to me to contest and win the last general election as the House of Representatives member under its banner,” he wrote, thanking party leaders and members for their support during the 2023 polls.
Although Kama did not reveal which political party he plans to join, reports suggest he may be heading to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
His exit comes amid a wave of defections triggered by recent leadership crises within the Labour Party, which has seen several stakeholders move to other parties.
