DUNGURAWA DISMISSES SACK PLOT, INSISTS HE IS KANO NNPP CHAIRMAN
The Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Kano State, Hashimu Dungurawa, has reaffirmed that he remains the legitimate leader of the party in the state.
Dungurawa dismissed recent moves by some ward executives seeking to remove him from office, describing the action as invalid and unconstitutional.
His reaction came about 24 hours after executives of Gargari Ward in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area reportedly signed a resolution claiming to have expelled him from the party.
According to Dungurawa, the ward executives lack the authority to take such action against him, noting that he is also a member of the party’s National Executive Committee.
“They do not have the right to expel me. As a member of the National Executive Committee, they cannot override that authority,” he said.
He expressed surprise at the alleged expulsion, adding that he was yet to be officially informed of the reasons behind the move.
Dungurawa further warned that legal action would be taken against individuals parading themselves as party leaders.
“We will arrest them for impersonation for falsely presenting themselves as leaders of the NNPP,” he added.
