The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested two men in Kaduna for allegedly running a fake recruitment syndicate in the name of the Service.

The suspects, identified as Aliyu Ibrahim and one accomplice, were apprehended after intelligence reports exposed their illegal activities.

According to investigations, between 250 and 350 unsuspecting Nigerians may have fallen victim after being promised employment opportunities within the DSS.

A security source confirmed that the two suspects are currently in custody while efforts are underway to track down other members of the syndicate.

The DSS, in a warning to the public, emphasized that it does not recruit through unofficial channels. It urged Nigerians to be cautious of fraudulent offers and to report suspicious activities to security agencies.

The Service reiterated that all official recruitment exercises are announced exclusively through its recognized communication platforms.

This arrest serves as a reminder for Nigerians to remain vigilant and avoid falling prey to fraudsters exploiting the desperation for jobs.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
