DRUNK BARBER ALLEGEDLY STABS MAN TO DEATH IN JIGAWA
The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested a 29-year-old barber, Emmanuel Olatonok, over the alleged killing of Ibrahim Shago, 32, following an argument in Dutse.
Police spokesperson SP Shiisu Lawan Adam said the incident occurred at about 5:45pm on Thursday, October 29, in the Rafin Sanyi area.
According to police, Olatonok, who reportedly worked at a hotel in Dutse, allegedly stabbed Shago in the neck with a knife. The command also alleged that the suspect was under the influence of alcohol.
Shago, a resident of Karnaya town, was rushed to hospital but was later confirmed dead by a doctor.
The incident sparked tension as some angry youths gathered and attempted to vandalise the hotel.
