‘DJ CUPPY DOESN’T LIKE NIGERIANS’ – EX-FIANCé RYAN TAYLOR OPENS UP ON FAILED ENGAGEMENT
British YouTuber and BMX rider, Ryan Taylor, has finally broken his silence on his failed engagement to Nigerian disc jockey and billionaire heiress, Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy.
Speaking on The Ladders Podcast, the 32-year-old influencer reflected on their brief relationship, revealing what led to their breakup. Taylor, who proposed to Cuppy in December 2022 after less than a month of dating, said underlying differences and attitudes toward certain issues caused a rift between them.
“Is it weird that I told you she didn’t like Nigerians? She came into my business and didn’t even want Nigerian staff,” he claimed, suggesting that cultural and professional disagreements strained the relationship.
Taylor explained that there were no contracts or non-disclosure agreements between them, adding that he walked away from the relationship with valuable life lessons.
“To be honest, what I got from that was lessons. Everything that happens, happens for a reason. But do I regret it? No. Lesson learned. Next!” he said.
Reflecting further, he added, “I learned that money is not everything, but not having it is.”
The pair’s whirlwind romance made headlines in late 2022 after Taylor proposed during the Gumball 3000 Rally. However, by mid-2023, observant fans noticed that the couple had unfollowed each other on Instagram, sparking rumors of a breakup—rumors that have now been confirmed through Taylor’s comments.
Since the split, DJ Cuppy has remained largely private about her personal life, focusing instead on her music, philanthropy, and academic pursuits. Meanwhile, Taylor’s candid revelations have reignited social media conversations about love, money, and cultural compatibility in high-profile relationships.
