Justice A. Bello of the Kaduna State High Court has postponed the trial of Polycarp Andrew, a dismissed officer and former exhibit keeper at the Kaduna Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), to December 11, 2025.

Andrew is facing six charges of criminal breach of trust after allegedly diverting over ₦22 million from exhibits he was assigned to safeguard. He was reportedly arrested in Taraba State following his disappearance when investigations linked him to the missing funds.

During the court proceedings, Andrew pleaded not guilty to all charges. The prosecution counsel, H.M. Mohammed, stated that he was ready to call two witnesses—an EFCC investigator and a representative from Opay Bank.

However, defence counsel, D.B. Kwajafa, requested an adjournment, citing the need for additional time to review a flash drive containing the video recording of his client’s extra-judicial statement, which he said had only recently been made available.

Mohammed objected, insisting that the content of the flash drive was irrelevant at the current stage of the trial.

After considering both arguments, Justice Bello granted the defence’s request and adjourned the hearing until December 11, 2025.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
