Former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye, has declared that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is positioning itself as a major political force ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time, Melaye boldly claimed that the party has attracted a significant number of influential politicians, including both former and serving lawmakers.

“As I speak, we have over 100 senators, both former and serving, who are members of the ADC,” he revealed. “We also have close to 400 members of the House of Representatives, former and serving, who are now with us.”

According to Melaye, the ADC has also gained the support of several former state governors, further strengthening its ranks. He insisted that the party is steadily building the momentum needed to challenge and eventually unseat President Bola Tinubu’s All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.

The outspoken politician described the ADC as Nigeria’s next big political alternative, arguing that Nigerians are seeking change and would rally behind a coalition strong enough to defeat the ruling APC.

With the next election still two years away, Melaye’s comments highlight the growing realignment within the country’s political space and set the stage for what may become a high-stakes battle for power in 2027.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
