DIASPORA APC GROUPS DEMAND ROLE IN PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN COUNCIL

Diaspora chapters of the All Progressives Congress have called for greater inclusion in the party’s presidential campaign council, saying members outside Nigeria should be given an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the campaign process.

The groups argued that Nigerians living abroad remain important stakeholders in the country’s political development and possess valuable networks and resources that could strengthen the party’s campaign efforts.

They urged the APC leadership to recognise the contributions of its diaspora members by ensuring that they are adequately represented in the structure and activities of the presidential campaign council.

According to the groups, greater involvement would also provide an avenue for diaspora members to mobilise support, communicate the party’s programmes and connect with Nigerians in different countries.

The call comes as the APC continues preparations and strategic engagements ahead of the presidential election, with its diaspora chapters seeking a more active role in shaping and supporting the party’s campaign.
