The Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission has opened its 2026 bursary application portal for eligible students from oil-producing communities in the state.

The commission said the scheme is designed to provide financial support to students pursuing higher education and help reduce the financial burden associated with their studies.

Eligible students have been advised to visit the official DESOPADEC platform and complete their applications within the specified period. Applicants are expected to provide accurate personal and academic information during the registration process.

The bursary programme forms part of DESOPADEC’s efforts to support education and human capital development across oil-producing areas of Delta State.

The commission has also urged applicants to ensure that all required documents and details are correctly submitted to avoid problems during the verification process.

DESOPADEC said the exercise would be conducted according to established guidelines and that only students who meet the eligibility requirements would benefit from the scheme.

The opening of the portal is expected to provide financial assistance to students who may otherwise struggle to meet some of the costs associated with their education.

Students and other beneficiaries have been encouraged to rely on official information from the commission and avoid dealing with individuals who demand payment in exchange for access to the bursary programme.
