President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has vowed that individuals and groups financing terrorism in Nigeria will face severe consequences, as part of renewed efforts to strengthen national security.

Speaking during his Democracy Day address, the President said his administration is intensifying the fight against terrorism, banditry, and other violent crimes that have threatened peace in parts of the country.

He warned that those who fund or support terrorist activities will no longer find safe havens, stressing that the government is expanding intelligence and security operations to track and disrupt their networks.

Tinubu said democracy can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace and stability, adding that his administration remains committed to protecting lives and property across the nation.

He also highlighted ongoing reforms in the security sector, including improved coordination among security agencies and increased investment in intelligence-driven operations.

The President called on Nigerians to remain united in the face of security challenges, assuring that the government is working tirelessly to restore lasting peace.

According to him, the fight against terrorism requires both military action and financial disruption of those enabling violence.

Security analysts say the renewed focus on terror financing reflects a broader global strategy aimed at cutting off funding channels that sustain extremist groups.

Tinubu reaffirmed that his administration will not relent until peace and stability are fully restored across all regions of the country.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
