DELTA POLICE RESCUE KIDNAP VICTIM, ARREST 10 SUSPECTS IN SECURITY OPERATIONS

The Delta State Police Command has rescued a 60-year-old man who was reportedly abducted and arrested 10 suspects in separate operations carried out across the state. The command also recovered a locally made firearm and other items believed to be connected to criminal activities during the operations.

According to the police, the rescue of the kidnap victim followed coordinated efforts by operatives who acted on intelligence gathered about the activities of suspected criminals. The 60-year-old victim was successfully recovered, while investigations continued to establish the circumstances surrounding his abduction and identify others who may have been involved.

The command said the arrests formed part of its wider campaign against kidnapping and other violent crimes in Delta State. The 10 suspects were apprehended during different operations as security personnel intensified patrols, intelligence gathering and targeted interventions across areas considered vulnerable to criminal activities.

The recovery of a locally fabricated firearm was also highlighted by the police as part of the gains recorded during the operations. Authorities said the weapon would be examined as investigations continue, while the suspects are expected to face further questioning over their alleged involvement in criminal activities.

The Delta Police Command reiterated its commitment to protecting residents and disrupting criminal networks operating across the state. It also urged members of the public to continue providing credible information to security agencies, stressing that timely intelligence remains important in preventing kidnappings and other crimes and ensuring that perpetrators are brought to justice.
