DELIVER JUSTICE WITHOUT DELAY – GOV LAWAL TELLS NEW ZAMFARA JUDGES
Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has urged newly appointed judges in the state to focus on delivering justice quickly and fairly as part of efforts to rebuild public trust and strengthen the legal system.
The governor gave the advice on Wednesday during the swearing-in ceremony of six newly appointed judicial officers at the Government House in Gusau.
The newly sworn-in judges include:
High Court Judges: Garba Sirajo, Bashir Rabi, and Abdullahi Nasir
Shari’ah Court of Appeal Kadis: Ibrahim Jibril, Muhammad Sanusi Magami, and Sha’aban Mansir
The oaths were administered by the Chief Judge of Zamfara State, Justice Kulu Aliyu.
In his remarks, Governor Lawal said the appointments followed due process and were approved by the National Judicial Council (NJC).
“A just and fair society rests on timely and unbiased dispensation of justice,” he said.
“As we work to rebuild Zamfara, strengthening justice delivery is key to restoring confidence in governance.”
He urged the new judges to uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and impartiality while handling cases.
Governor Lawal also pledged his administration’s continued support for the judiciary, promising better working conditions, allowances, and tools to help the judges perform their duties efficiently.
He noted that the appointments reflect the judges' experience and commitment to justice, adding that the public is counting on them to deliver fair and timely rulings.
This move is part of Governor Lawal’s broader plan to restore law and order in Zamfara State, which has been battling insecurity and weak governance structures in recent years.
