Nigerian superstars Davido and Shallipopi set the stage on fire as they headlined the opening night of the 2025 Afro Nation festival in Portugal.

Afro Nation, a popular three-day festival celebrating Africa’s rich music and culture, kicked off on Wednesday night in the scenic coastal city of Portimão. The annual event, founded in 2019, continues to draw thousands of fans from around the world eager to vibe to Afrobeats, Amapiano, dancehall and more.

Shallipopi had fans buzzing when he brought his siblings and other artistes on stage while performing his smash hit ‘Lahoo’, creating a memorable family moment. Not to be outdone, Davido electrified the crowd with back-to-back performances of his classics — ‘If’, ‘Fall’, ‘Dami Duro’ and ‘Fia’ — reminding everyone why he’s called “001.”

On its official page, Afro Nation shared clips of the explosive performances, writing:

MONUMENTAL! @theycallmeshallipopi came to SCATTER the Portimao at #ANP2025!”

 

The party is far from over. Nigerian songstress Tems is slated to perform on Thursday night, while Friday will see Burna Boy, Kamo Mphela, Booba, and Dexta Daps wrap up the festival with a grand finale.
