Afrobeats superstar Davido has thrown his support behind Arsenal ahead of their UEFA Champions League final showdown with Paris Saint-Germain, while also celebrating a major international recognition for his impact on global music.

Davido Tips Arsenal for Champions League Triumph

Arsenal have booked a place in the UEFA Champions League final after a hard-fought campaign that saw them edge Atlético Madrid 2-1 on aggregate. Their opponents, Paris Saint-Germain, reached the final after a dramatic 6-5 aggregate win over Bayern Munich.

With anticipation building ahead of the final scheduled for May 30 in Budapest, Davido publicly backed the English side.

Reacting on his X (formerly Twitter) account, he simply wrote: “I want them to win. Arsenal.”

His comment adds to the growing global attention around the final, as Arsenal chase what would be a landmark European victory after a season that has reignited belief among supporters.

Global Honour for Davido in Atlanta

Beyond football, the Nigerian star is also making headlines for a major career milestone.

Davido has been announced as one of the 2026 inductees into the Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame in Atlanta, United States.

The honour places him among an elite group of global music figures and makes him only the second Nigerian artist to be recognised, following Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti.

The induction ceremony is scheduled for June 1 in Atlanta’s Historic Westside. It is organised by the Black American Music Association in collaboration with the Georgia Entertainment Caucus, and celebrates individuals who have made significant contributions to Black music and culture worldwide.

This year’s class includes American rapper Ludacris, gospel artist Paul S. Morton, and former Atlanta mayor Maynard Jackson. Previous inductees feature global icons such as Beyoncé, Usher, Stevie Wonder, and Mary J. Blige.

Since its establishment in 2021, the Walk of Fame has continued to honour influential figures whose work has shaped music and entertainment history across generations.

From football fandom to global recognition, Davido continues to cement his influence far beyond music.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
