Nigerian music star Davido has revealed that he is set to return to school, announcing plans to pursue a Master’s degree in Political Science in the United Kingdom next year.

The award-winning artist shared the update while speaking about his future plans, noting that education remains an important personal goal despite his success in the music industry.

According to him, the programme will be a one-year postgraduate course, in line with the structure commonly offered by UK universities.

“I want to do my Master’s next year,” he said, confirming his intention to further his academic journey.

When asked whether he would be studying at Adeleke University, he clarified that his choice would be outside Nigeria.

“No, in UK, a one-year course in Political Science. I have my BSc already,” he added.

The announcement highlights a growing trend among public figures who are combining entertainment careers with formal education in fields beyond their primary profession.

For Davido, who has already built a global career in music, the decision signals a possible shift in interest toward governance, leadership, and public affairs, fields closely tied to Political Science.

While he did not disclose the specific university, his plan reflects a structured academic path that many international students follow in the UK, where Master’s programmes are often completed within a year.

The move has also sparked conversation among fans, especially given his influence as one of Africa’s most prominent entertainers.

Beyond music, Davido has often been vocal about social and civic issues, and this academic pursuit may further deepen his engagement with public discourse.

As he prepares for the next phase of his journey, the announcement adds a new layer to his public profile, one that blends entertainment, education, and possibly future leadership interests.

For now, however, the focus shifts to his continuing music career, with academic plans set to begin in the coming year.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
