The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has expanded its free petroleum products delivery initiative to Kano, Imo, Anambra, and Nasarawa states, in a move aimed at reducing distribution costs and improving access to refined fuel.

The refinery said the initiative is designed to help independent petroleum marketers cut transportation expenses, creating room for more competitive petrol prices in the affected states.

The expansion comes as the refinery continues to strengthen its role in Nigeria’s downstream petroleum market and increase the availability of locally refined products.

Industry stakeholders said reducing logistics costs could provide some relief to marketers and consumers, particularly in states located far from major petroleum supply hubs.

They noted that transportation remains a significant component of fuel distribution costs, meaning initiatives that shorten the supply chain could improve price competitiveness.

The development also reflects the growing importance of domestic refining in Nigeria’s efforts to reduce dependence on imported petroleum products and strengthen energy security.

Dangote Refinery reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the domestic market and improving the distribution of locally refined petroleum products across the country.
