DAMON DASH CLASHES WITH CHARLAMAGNE, ACCUSES HIM OF GOSSIP AND LACK OF MASCULINITY
Music executive Damon Dash stirred up major controversy during his return to The Breakfast Club, reigniting his long-standing feud with host Charlamagne Tha God.
Dash, known for his fiery personality, did not hold back as he revisited his past criticism of Charlamagne as a “Chatty Patty.” This time, he escalated the tension, suggesting the radio host should “come out of the closet” and accusing him of being a poor example of Black masculinity in America.
According to Dash, Charlamagne’s style of gossip-driven radio was heavily influenced by media personality Wendy Williams, whom he jokingly suggested Charlamagne should call his “OG.”
Dash also referenced an incident from over a decade ago where Charlamagne allegedly ran from a group of men. “A real man would’ve stood there. Win, lose, or draw, I would’ve fought. Women need to feel safe around me,” Dash argued.
At one point, the interview nearly turned into a dramatic walkout moment, similar to rapper Birdman’s viral Breakfast Club exit, but co-hosts Loren LoRosa and Jess Hilarious stopped Dash, urging him to stay and finish the conversation.
Beyond Charlamagne, Dash aimed The Breakfast Club itself for mocking his finances with the long-running “Dame Debt” tagline. He also criticized 50 Cent over ownership claims regarding his 2002 classic film Paid in Full.
For context, Charlamagne is married with children and is the founder of The Black Effect Podcast Network, a platform he says uplifts Black voices and provides insights for the community.
After the heated exchange, Dash was later spotted cooling down with a joint, but he made it clear that his issues with Charlamagne — and even rapper Cam’ron — remain unresolved.
