CROSS RIVER GROUP PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR TINUBU, OTU IN 2027
A political pressure group in Cross River State, the Cross River State Political Network (CRISPON), has pledged to mobilise bloc votes for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Bassey Otu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The group made the commitment during an endorsement rally held in Ogoja Local Government Area, where it expressed support for the All Progressives Congress and its candidates.
CRISPON Director-General, Dr Michael Nku Abuo, said the group’s decision was influenced by what it described as interventions and achievements of the Tinubu and Otu administrations in the state.
Abuo urged members to intensify mobilisation at the grassroots and ensure strong voter participation across polling units and wards.
He, however, listed several demands the group wants addressed, including improved electricity supply in Bekwarra, the establishment of a College of Medical Sciences in Yala and expansion of facilities at the University of Cross River State’s Okuku campus.
The group also called for faster progress on some road projects and continued federal support for Cross River’s oil-producing status and the proposed Bakassi Deep Seaport.
The endorsement comes as political activities and mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections continue to gather momentum across the country.
