CROSS RIVER GOVERNOR REWARDS SUPER FALCONS STAR MIRACLE USANI WITH ₦50M, LAND, AND AMBASSADORIAL ROLE
Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu, has honoured Super Falcons defender Miracle Usani with a ₦50 million cash prize, a plot of land, and an appointment as the state’s Sports Ambassador.
The governor announced the reward during a special reception held in Calabar to celebrate the young football star’s achievements.
Usani, aged 18, was part of the Super Falcons squad that clinched the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title in Morocco, marking her first international trophy with the national team under coach Justine Madugu.
Despite making only one appearance during the tournament, Governor Otu praised her for representing the state and the nation with excellence and discipline.
“Miracle has made Cross River and Nigeria proud. Her dedication, talent, and humility embody the spirit of our youth. This is just the beginning of greater things to come,”
— Governor Bassey Otu
The gesture is part of the governor’s broader effort to encourage sports development and motivate young talents in Cross River State to pursue excellence.
