CRISTIANO RONALDO REVEALS HIS DAUGHTERS INSPIRED HIM TO PROPOSE TO GEORGINA RODRIGUEZ WITH £1.5M RING
Football legend Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed the heartwarming moment when his daughters convinced him to finally propose to his longtime partner, Georgina Rodriguez, after nearly nine years together.
The Al-Nassr star disclosed this during an interview with Piers Morgan, where he recounted how an unplanned, late-night moment turned into one of the most special events of his life.
According to Ronaldo, the proposal took place around 1 a.m., when his daughters unexpectedly joined him and encouraged him to pop the question.
“One of my friends gave me the ring to offer Gio (Georgina), and as I was giving her the ring, my two kids came in and said, ‘Daddy, you’re going to give the ring to mum and ask her to get married.’ I said, ‘Wow, this is the right moment to say yes,’” Ronaldo said.
The 40-year-old star confessed that although he had always planned to propose someday, the heartfelt encouragement from his children made him act in the spur of the moment.
“I knew I was going to do it one day, but I hadn’t planned to do it then. Because my daughters said that, and my friends were filming, it just felt right,” he added.
Ronaldo admitted that he didn’t go down on one knee because he was caught off guard, but he made a short speech that came straight from the heart.
“I’m not a very romantic guy — well, I am, but not the kind that brings flowers every week,” he joked. “But I’m romantic in my way. It was beautiful, and I knew she was the woman of my life.”
Georgina, an Argentine-Spanish model, announced the engagement in August, proudly showing off her dazzling £1.5 million diamond ring in an Instagram post captioned:
“Yes I do. In this and in all my lives.”
The couple, who share two children together, have been together since 2016, after meeting at a Gucci store in Madrid. Their relationship has since blossomed into one of the most admired celebrity romances in the world.
