Malcolm-Jamal Warner, best known for his role as Theo Huxtable on the hit sitcom The Cosby Show, has tragically passed away at the age of 54.

 

According to ABC News, Warner died on Sunday after drowning near Cocles Beach in Limón, Costa Rica. Local authorities confirmed that he was caught in a rip current and died from asphyxia. His body was recovered on Sunday afternoon.

 

Warner, born on August 18, 1970, rose to fame in the 1980s for his role as the lovable teenage son in The Cosby Show. His performance made him one of the most recognizable young actors of that era.
