CORPS MEMBERS CHARGED TO UPHOLD NYSC IDEALS IN TARABA COMMUNITIES
The Taraba State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mr. Ella Aji Williams, has urged corps members deployed to the state to embody and promote the core values of the Scheme within their host communities.
He made this appeal on Tuesday at the closing ceremony of the 2025 Batch ‘C’ Stream I Orientation Course, held in Ardo-Kola Local Government Area.
Williams praised the corps members for their discipline, cooperation, and commitment throughout the orientation programme. He noted that their active participation and responsible behaviour demonstrated readiness for the service year, which he described as a period that offers significant opportunities for personal development and national service.
He encouraged them to take part in community development initiatives that address key needs in sectors such as education, healthcare, environmental sustainability, agriculture, and youth empowerment.
Expressing gratitude for the continued support of the Taraba State Government towards the Scheme, Williams advised the corps members to relate with their host communities with respect, humility, and a genuine desire to contribute positively.
“Taraba State is rich in culture, known for its warmth and hospitality, and blessed with great potential. As NYSC ambassadors, your actions will represent the ideals of the Scheme,” he stated.
He also reminded them to remain security-conscious by avoiding risky situations, obeying local laws and customs, and maintaining regular communication with NYSC management, employers, and fellow corps members.
“Your safety is our highest priority,” Williams added, urging them to make meaningful impacts and leave lasting positive impressions throughout their service year.
