Oyo State governor calls on eligible citizens nationwide to secure their Permanent Voter Cards ahead of upcoming polls, emphasizing that the document remains the ultimate tool for democratic choice

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has charged eligible citizens across the country to ensure they collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The governor made the call in a public broadcast referencing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) schedule for card distribution, which is set to commence across designated centers.

Makinde emphasized that possessing the voter card represents the fundamental power of citizens to actively participate in shaping governance and selecting leadership at all tiers.

He urged the electorate not to wait until the final moments of the collection window, stressing that civic participation remains indispensable to strengthening the nation's democratic trajectory. 

The appeal aligns with intensified grassroots mobilization efforts by various political stakeholders and election management bodies as the countdown to the 2027 ballot continues to gather momentum.
