Lionel Messi delivered a brilliant free-kick to help Inter Miami secure a 2-1 comeback win over FC Porto on Thursday at the 2025 Club World Cup.

After a goalless draw against Al Ahly in their opening match, Inter Miami looked headed for another disappointing result when Samuel Aghehowa put Porto ahead from the penalty spot just eight minutes into the game.

However, the MLS team responded strongly in the second half. Just two minutes after the restart, Telasco Segovia slotted in a well-worked team goal to bring them level.

Messi then stole the spotlight in the 55th minute, bending in a superb free-kick from the edge of the area—his 50th goal for the club.
