CLERIC URGES CROSS RIVER GOVERNOR TO REMOVE UNDERPERFORMING APPOINTEES

A cleric in Cross River State has called on Governor Bassey Otu to remove government appointees who are not meeting expectations in their various positions.

The cleric said the governor should review the performance of political appointees and take action against those whose contributions do not reflect the administration’s development objectives.

According to the cleric, government appointments should be based on competence, commitment and the ability to deliver meaningful results to residents.

He urged Otu to ensure that individuals occupying public offices remain accountable for their responsibilities and contribute effectively to the implementation of government policies.

The call comes amid discussions about the performance of the Cross River State Government and the need for public officials to deliver on their mandates.

The cleric also appealed to the governor to prioritise the welfare and development needs of residents while strengthening accountability across government institutions.

He said replacing non-performing officials with capable individuals could help improve service delivery and accelerate the implementation of development programmes across the state.

The cleric further urged government appointees to see their positions as opportunities to serve the people rather than personal privileges.

He expressed confidence that a stronger focus on performance and accountability would improve public confidence in the administration and help Cross River achieve its development goals.
