CLEAN COOKING INITIATIVE CAN DRIVE ECONOMIC GROWTH – SANWO-OLU’S AIDE

An aide to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has said that the clean cooking initiative has the potential to boost economic growth while improving public health and environmental outcomes.

The adviser made the statement while highlighting the importance of transitioning from traditional cooking methods to cleaner and more sustainable energy sources.

According to him, adopting clean cooking solutions such as gas, electricity, and improved biomass technologies can reduce health risks associated with indoor air pollution, especially for households that rely on firewood and kerosene.

He noted that the initiative would also create new opportunities in the energy value chain, including production, distribution, and maintenance of clean cooking technologies.

The aide added that expanding access to clean cooking options could help reduce environmental degradation caused by deforestation and carbon emissions.
