CIBN PROMOTES HEALTHY LIVING AMONG BANK PROFESSIONALS
The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) has launched a new initiative to promote healthy living among banking professionals across the country.
The programme, aimed at addressing the high stress levels and sedentary lifestyles common in the sector, encourages regular physical exercise, balanced nutrition, mental wellness, and work-life balance. CIBN President emphasised that the health of bank workers is critical to the overall performance and stability of the financial industry.
Activities under the initiative include wellness workshops, fitness challenges, health screening programmes, and awareness campaigns on preventing non-communicable diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, and cardiovascular issues.
Senior bankers and medical experts have commended the move, noting that a healthier workforce will lead to higher productivity, reduced medical costs, and better decision-making in the sector.
CIBN urged all member banks to support the initiative by implementing workplace wellness policies. The institute plans to expand the programme to include family members of banking professionals in future phases.
