CHEVRON TRAINS UNILAG STUDENTS ON OIL AND GAS SUPPLY CHAIN SKILLS
Chevron Nigeria Limited has trained students of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) on key aspects of the oil and gas supply chain industry as part of efforts to build future-ready professionals for the energy sector.
The training programme focused on equipping students with practical knowledge of supply chain management, procurement, logistics, and operational processes within the oil and gas industry.
Chevron said the initiative aligns with its commitment to supporting education, developing local talent, and preparing young Nigerians with skills relevant to the evolving energy sector.
University stakeholders welcomed the programme, noting that industry-led training helps bridge the gap between academic learning and workplace requirements.
Energy experts said partnerships between companies and higher institutions are essential for creating a skilled workforce capable of supporting Nigeria’s oil and gas industry while adapting to global industry changes.
The initiative reflects growing efforts by energy companies to invest in youth development, knowledge transfer, and capacity building as Nigeria seeks to strengthen local participation in the sector.
