CHELSEA SECURE SIGNING OF NIGERIAN DEFENDER JUSTIN OSAGIE
Chelsea Football Club have completed the signing of Nigerian centre-back, Justin Osagie.
The 20-year-old defender joined the Blues on undisclosed terms after impressing during a trial period at Stamford Bridge.
Osagie made the move to Chelsea following the end of his contract with Peterborough United. His outstanding performances during the trial reportedly caught the attention of the club’s academy coaches, earning him a permanent deal.
Now part of Chelsea’s development squad, Osagie was listed as an unused substitute in their EFL Trophy clash against Northampton Town.
Before joining Peterborough in 2024, Osagie had stints with Southend United, West Ham United, and Celtic—each move reflecting his steady rise through the ranks of English football.
Several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Brighton & Hove Albion, were previously linked with the promising defender.
Osagie remains eligible to represent both Nigeria and the Republic of Ireland at the international level.
