CHELSEA, MAN UNITED PULL OUT OF ALEXANDER ISAK TRANSFER CHASE
Newcastle striker Alexander Isak may be pushing for a move away from the club, but two of the Premier League’s biggest sides—Chelsea and Manchester United—have reportedly decided not to pursue him this summer.
The 25-year-old Swedish forward was left out of Newcastle’s pre-season tour of the Far East after making it known that he wants to leave. However, despite his desire to switch clubs, interest from top teams seems limited.
Chelsea are said to be satisfied with their current forward lineup, which includes Liam Delap, Nicolas Jackson, and new signing Joao Pedro from Brighton. Insiders also believe Chelsea’s name may be getting floated in transfer talks simply to boost Isak’s price tag.
Manchester United, on the other hand, are not keen on a move for the striker either. With Newcastle reportedly valuing Isak at £150 million, United are focusing elsewhere after already spending over £130 million on Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha this summer.
Liverpool and a few other clubs may still be monitoring the situation, but for now, it seems Isak’s options in the Premier League are narrowing despite his clear wish to leave St. James’ Park.
