CHARLES OKOCHA REJECTS PORTABLE’S BITING ALLEGATION AFTER BOXING REMATCH

Nollywood actor Charles Okocha has denied allegations by singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, that he bit him during their celebrity boxing rematch in Lagos.

Okocha addressed the accusation during an appearance at AY and Akpororo’s comedy night, insisting that he could not have bitten Portable because he wore a mouthguard throughout the contest.

The actor described Portable’s allegation as untrue and maintained that the singer should accept the outcome of their bout. Okocha also repeated his denial during an appearance on TVC Entertainment.

The celebrity boxing rematch, tagged “Unfinished Business,” took place at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. The contest eventually descended into a physical struggle that resembled wrestling, forcing the referee and security personnel to intervene.

Portable later walked out of the ring before the contest could be properly concluded. He was subsequently brought back into the ring and disqualified, resulting in Okocha being declared the winner.

Following the controversial ending, Portable released a diss track in which he criticised the officiating and accused Okocha of choking and biting him during their confrontation.

Okocha, however, dismissed the claims and argued that his mouthguard made the alleged bite impossible. He also joked about the accusation while insisting that he had no intention of biting his opponent.

The latest bout marked another celebrity boxing appearance for Portable after he previously lost to skit maker Carter Efe by unanimous decision on May 1 at the same venue.

Portable had also claimed after that defeat that he was paid ₦50m for lasting one round and would have received ₦100m if he had completed two rounds.

The Okocha-Port­able rivalry has therefore continued to generate attention beyond the boxing ring, with their latest encounter producing controversy over the fight's chaotic finish, Portable's disqualification and the subsequent exchange of accusations between both entertainers.
