CHAN: MOROCCO, MADAGASCAR BOOK SEMI-FINAL SPOTS
The race for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) title is heating up, with Morocco and Madagascar becoming the first two countries to book their places in the semi-final stage.
On Friday, Morocco edged past Tanzania 1-0 at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium, with Oussama Lamlioui scoring the decisive goal that sealed their qualification.
Over in Nairobi, it was high drama as Madagascar battled Kenya to a 1-1 draw at the Moi International Sports Centre. The game went to penalties, where Madagascar held their nerve to win 4-3 and advance to the last four.
The remaining two semi-final slots will be decided on Saturday. Uganda will face Senegal, while Sudan takes on Algeria in the other quarter-final clashes.
The winners of those matches will join Morocco and Madagascar in the semi-finals as the tournament enters its most exciting stage.
