CHAN 2024: HOME EAGLES DETERMINED TO END ON HIGH AGAINST CONGO – CAPTAIN NDUKA
Captain of the Home-based Super Eagles, Junior Nduka, has assured Nigerians that the team will fight hard to secure a victory in their final CHAN 2024 group game against Congo.
The Eagles have endured a disappointing tournament so far, suffering back-to-back defeats to Senegal and Sudan, which confirmed their early elimination. They are also yet to score a single goal, conceding five in the process.
Despite the setbacks, Nduka says the team is motivated to avoid leaving Tanzania empty-handed.
“We need a win for the country. We’ll give everything against Congo. The two defeats affected us, but we must bounce back,” the defender told CAFonline.
The crucial match will be played today (Tuesday) at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, Dar es Salaam, with kick-off scheduled for 6pm Nigerian time.
Although the Eagles can no longer progress in the tournament, a win against Congo would at least restore pride and give the team a positive ending to an otherwise difficult campaign.
