CHAMPIONS LEAGUE TABLE AFTER MATCHDAY 2: BAYERN, REAL, PSG LEAD AS CHELSEA, LIVERPOOL STRUGGLE
The UEFA Champions League is heating up after Matchday 2, with Bayern Munich leading the table following back-to-back wins in their opening fixtures.
The German champions kicked off their campaign with a 3-1 victory over Chelsea before thrashing Pafos 5-1 on Tuesday night to make it six points from six.
Also sitting comfortably on six points are Real Madrid, defending champions Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan, Arsenal, and surprise package Qarabag. Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City round out the current top eight.
In contrast, some European heavyweights are struggling. Barcelona find themselves in 16th place, while Premier League giants Liverpool and Chelsea occupy 17th and 18th positions respectively.
At the bottom of the table are Athletic Bilbao, Ajax, and Kairat Almaty, who are yet to register a point in this season’s competition.
With four matchdays still to play, the race for qualification into the knockout stages remains wide open.
