CHAMPIONS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS CELEBRATES 20 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE, ANNOUNCES PLAN FOR UNIVERSITY
The Sports Garden of Champions International Schools, Magboro, Ogun State, was abuzz with excitement as people from all walks of life gathered to celebrate the school’s 20th anniversary. The grand event brought together current and former students, families, friends, and community leaders in a joyous celebration of two decades of impactful education and the shaping of future leaders.
With the theme “Praise of His Deeds” drawn from Psalm 105:1, the celebration featured spirited praise worship, reflecting the school’s gratitude for God’s faithfulness over the years.
In her welcome address, Pastor (Mrs.) Abosede Adekeye, Chief Executive Officer of the school, recounted the humble beginnings of Champions International Schools. She credited divine guidance and her husband, Pastor Fola Adekeye, the Director of Studies, for their roles in building the school. The highlight of her speech was an announcement that thrilled the audience: plans are underway to establish Champions University.
Reflecting on the school’s journey, Mrs. Adekeye said, “We started teaching our children at home, and soon, parents brought their children. Our living room became our first classroom. It has been 20 years of raising intelligent students, grooming champions, and witnessing God’s unfailing promises.”
The event also featured tributes from notable community figures. Chief (Dr.) Idowu Ogunsola, Oluomo of Aiyedun Kingdom and Chairman of the occasion, praised the founders’ dedication and the school’s commitment to academic excellence. “The success of Champions International Schools is driven by divine grace, the founders’ vision, understanding parents, dedicated teachers, and committed students,” Ogunsola remarked.
Royal Father of the Day, Oba Alalade Ademuyiwa, lauded the Adekeyes for their contributions to community development and prayed for the fulfillment of their vision for Champions University.
In a heartfelt speech titled “Working with God to Raise Responsible and Excellent Children,” Mrs. Dolapo Adekeye-Olushola, a member of the founding family, reflected on the sacrifices made in the early days of the school. She urged parents to guide their children with love and wisdom.
The celebration was also a platform for community leaders and dignitaries, including Barrister Kola Adebayo, Barrister Yemi Adetiba, Pastor Emmanuel Kelani, and Dr. Olayinka Oyegbile, to commend the school for its academic excellence and contributions to community development.
With its legacy of excellence and ambitious plans for a university, Champions International Schools continues to cement its place as a beacon of hope and transformation in Magboro and beyond.
