CARDI B BECOMES FIRST FEMALE RAPPER TO DEBUT FIRST TWO ALBUMS AT NO. 1
American rap superstar Cardi B has etched her name in history by becoming the first female rapper to debut her first two studio albums at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Her latest project, “Am I The Drama?”, stormed to the top with an impressive 200,000 equivalent album units in its opening week—marking the biggest week for an R&B/hip-hop album by a woman in 2025.
Billboard confirmed the milestone in an Instagram post:
“Cardi B scores her second No. 1 on the Billboard 200 as ‘Am I The Drama?’ debuts atop the tally… With 200,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S., it marks 2025’s biggest week for an R&B/hip-hop album by a woman.”
This achievement mirrors the success of her 2018 debut album, “Invasion of Privacy”, which also entered the chart at No. 1 and cemented her as one of the defining voices in hip-hop.
The strong debut for “Am I The Drama?” was fueled by massive streaming figures, as well as robust physical sales across multiple CD and vinyl editions.
In a bold promotional move, Cardi B even broke a Guinness World Record, delivering 176 signed copies of the album via drone in just one hour across the Dallas–Fort Worth area—a first-of-its-kind marketing stunt that thrilled fans.
With this new milestone, Cardi B not only proves her staying power in the music industry but also reaffirms her ability to blend cultural dominance with innovative artistry.
