CARABAO CUP: WOLVES COACH PEREIRA HAILS AROKODARE’S IMPACT IN WIN OVER EVERTON
Wolverhampton Wanderers manager, Vitor Pereira, has praised Nigerian forward Tolu Arokodare following his decisive display in the club’s 2-0 Carabao Cup victory over Everton at Molineux.
Arokodare came off the bench to score his first goal for Wolves, sealing the win three minutes from time after being set up by Joao Gomes.
Earlier, Marshall Munetsi had given Wolves the lead in the first half before Arokodare doubled the advantage to send the home fans into jubilation.
The former Genk striker, who replaced Strand Larsen in the 68th minute, showed composure inside the box to slot past Everton’s goalkeeper and open his account for the club.
Speaking after the game, Pereira expressed delight at the 23-year-old’s performance, stressing that the goal will serve as a huge confidence boost.
“Tolu has settled in really well since arriving and tonight’s goal will give him confidence,” Pereira told the club’s official website.
“It’s always good for a striker to get off the mark early.”
With the win, Wolves booked their place in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup, joining the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, and Brighton.
