Rivers United are set to depart for Mozambique on Wednesday ahead of their CAF Champions League second-round first leg encounter against Black Bulls of Maputo.

The players and officials will travel from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, having arrived in the city on Tuesday from Port Harcourt to connect their flight to Maputo.

The first-leg clash is scheduled to take place at the Campo da ABB Stadium in Maputo on Saturday, October 18, while the return leg will be held a week later at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.

Rivers United will be aiming to secure a positive result away from home to strengthen their chances of advancing to the group stage of the competition.

The Nigerian side progressed to this stage after defeating FS Les Aigles of Congo in the first round of the tournament.

With confidence high in the camp, the Pride of Rivers are determined to continue their impressive run and make a strong statement in this year’s CAF Champions League campaign.
