Commuters were thrown into panic on Sunday when a commercial bus traveling from Makurdi to Naka was reportedly ambushed by suspected armed herdsmen, who abducted all passengers on board.

Eyewitnesses said the attackers stopped the vehicle before it reached its destination and forced the passengers into nearby bushes at gunpoint.

The Benue State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Edet Udeme, said she had not yet received an official report of the incident but assured that authorities would confirm the details and provide updates as the situation develops.
