BURNA BOY SAYS HE’S NOT STARTING A FAMILY ANYTIME SOON – HERE’S WHY
Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy has revealed that he isn’t planning to start a family just yet — and it’s got everything to do with his busy lifestyle on the road.
In a recent interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra in London, the Grammy-winning artist, whose real name is Damini Ogulu, opened up about balancing fame, touring, and personal life. When asked if starting a family is something he’s considering anytime soon, Burna responded candidly:
“Yeah, but I don’t want to start that on the road. I’m not planning on quitting tours anytime soon, so I don’t know where to now put that [starting a family]; find a middle ground.”
The 34-year-old ‘African Giant’ explained that touring remains a major part of his life and career, and he doesn’t want to bring a family into that hectic schedule.
He also admitted that his non-stop work life has kept him from doing something as simple as taking a holiday. “I haven’t gone on a holiday since I started my music career,” he said, noting that not having children is one reason why he hasn’t taken time off.
For fans wondering why Burna seems to be everywhere — from headline tours to music festivals — this gives a bit of insight into the personal sacrifices he’s made along the way.
While many celebrities juggle family and fame, Burna Boy seems to prefer waiting for the right time, one where he can truly focus on both without compromise.
For now, his focus remains on delivering music and powerful live performances across the globe. As for family life? That chapter may have to wait.
