BUHARI SERVED NIGERIA WITH STRONG WILL — NED NWOKO MOURNS EX-PRESIDENT
Senator Ned Nwoko (APC-Delta North) has joined countless Nigerians in mourning the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari, describing him as a leader who served the nation with unwavering commitment.
In a statement released on Monday in Abuja, Nwoko said he received the news of Buhari’s passing with deep sadness. The former president died on Sunday at a clinic in London after battling a long illness.
“President Buhari was a man whose name had become etched in Nigeria’s political and historical journey,” Nwoko said.
He praised Buhari’s dedication, noting that the late leader served Nigeria both as a military Head of State and later as a democratically elected President. According to him, while opinions on Buhari’s style of leadership may differ, one thing that was never in question was his deep love for the country.
“He was a symbol of resilience and a product of history who returned to power after several attempts, reminding us all that perseverance is a virtue in public service,” Nwoko added.
The senator extended his heartfelt condolences to Buhari’s family, the people and government of Katsina State, and all Nigerians mourning the loss of a man who, in his view, left a significant mark on the country’s story.
“May his soul rest in peace, and may his contributions to Nigeria continue to be remembered with introspection and respect,” he prayed.
As tributes continue to pour in from across the country and beyond, many are reflecting on Buhari’s long political journey — one marked by determination, resilience, and an unshakeable belief in serving Nigeria.
