BUA SEEKS CLOSER GOVERNMENT-INDUSTRY COOPERATION TO DRIVE ECONOMIC GROWTH
The BUA Group has called for stronger collaboration between state governments and the private sector, saying closer cooperation is necessary to accelerate economic development, attract investment and create more opportunities for Nigerians.
The company stressed that government alone cannot drive sustainable economic growth, noting that businesses have an important role to play in expanding industries, creating jobs and supporting communities. It therefore urged governments to create an environment where private companies can operate effectively and contribute more meaningfully to development.
BUA said stronger partnerships could help address some of the challenges affecting businesses, including infrastructure gaps, regulatory issues and the need for policies that encourage investment. According to the company, a more coordinated approach between government and industry would make it easier to implement projects that directly benefit communities.
The group also emphasised the importance of dialogue between public officials and business leaders, arguing that regular engagement would help governments better understand the realities facing companies and allow the private sector to contribute its experience and resources to solving economic challenges.
BUA maintained that a stronger public-private partnership would support job creation, improve infrastructure and strengthen local economic activity. It called on state governments to deepen their engagement with businesses and develop policies that encourage investment, saying such cooperation would be beneficial to both the economy and the people.
