BUA COMMITS $85 MILLION TO PORT HARCOURT PORTS EXPANSION PROJECT
BUA Group has committed $85 million to the expansion of port facilities in Port Harcourt, a move aimed at improving cargo handling capacity and strengthening Nigeria’s maritime infrastructure.
The investment is expected to modernise port operations, enhance efficiency, and support the movement of goods through one of the country’s key seaports.
According to the company, the expansion project will help ease congestion, improve turnaround time for vessels, and increase the port’s capacity to accommodate growing trade volumes.
Maritime stakeholders welcomed the investment, noting that improved port infrastructure is essential for lowering logistics costs, facilitating trade, and boosting economic activity.
Industry experts said expanding port capacity would complement ongoing efforts to modernise Nigeria’s transport and logistics network, attract private investment, and improve the competitiveness of the country’s maritime sector.
BUA reaffirmed its commitment to investing in strategic infrastructure projects that support trade, industrial growth, and Nigeria’s long-term economic development.
