BRUNO FERNANDES’ HOME BURGLED WHILE IN ITALY FOR COMO MATCH
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes had his Cheshire home burgled while he was in Italy for his team’s Champions League match against Como.
No members of his family were reportedly at the property during the break-in on Wednesday, October 21.
Cheshire Police said officers responded to reports of suspicious activity after a caller spotted three unidentified men in a neighbouring property’s rear garden.
By the time officers arrived, the suspects had left. Police subsequently confirmed that a burglary had taken place and several items had been stolen.
Investigators said enquiries were ongoing. Details of the stolen items and their value were not disclosed in the reports.
Manchester United are supporting Fernandes following the incident.
The burglary occurred during a difficult trip for the midfielder, whose team suffered a 4–1 defeat to Como.
Fernandes is the latest footballer whose home has been targeted while away on club duty. Other players have experienced similar incidents in the Cheshire area.
Police are continuing their investigation into the break-in.
