BRODA SHAGGI RECOUNTS SURVIVAL AND MONTHS-LONG RECOVERY AFTER STRAY BULLET INJURY IN OGUN STATE
Popular Nigerian comedian and actor breaks silence in emotional video update, detailing emergency surgeries in Lagos and Dubai following March 2026 incident
Popular Nigerian comedian, actor, and content creator Samuel Animashaun Perry, widely known as Broda Shaggi, has opened up about surviving a life-threatening stray bullet injury that kept him away from the public eye for over seven months.
Breaking his silence in an emotional video released on his official YouTube channel, the 33-year-old entertainer revealed that the incident occurred on March 9, 2026, around the Sango-Ota axis of Ogun State following a brand activation event. Broda Shaggi described hearing a sudden loud bang while trapped in traffic, after which he touched his hip and discovered he was bleeding heavily from a stray bullet wound.
The entertainer recounted blacking out before being rushed to emergency medical facilities in Lagos. Due to the severity of the hip injury and initial complications regarding mobility, he underwent initial emergency surgery in Lagos before being flown abroad to Dubai for specialized corrective procedures and intensive physiotherapy.
Expressing deep gratitude for receiving a "second chance at life," Broda Shaggi shared that although he still relies on crutches for support, he can now stand and walk independently. He assured fans and well-wishers that he has resumed writing comedy series and will officially return to screens with new entertainment projects as his recovery progresses.
