BRITISH POP SINGER LAUREN BENNETT DIES AT 37

Lauren Bennett, the British singer best known for her featured vocals on LMFAO’s global hit “Party Rock Anthem,” has died at the age of 37.

Bennett’s former group, G.R.L., confirmed the news on social media, stating, “It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Lauren. Our hearts are broken and we cannot begin to express how much she meant to us.”

The singer, who also performed with Paradiso Girls and G.R.L., passed away on May 29 in Meopham, Kent. Coroner records obtained by media outlets indicate the cause of death is under investigation, with an inquest scheduled for October. Her father has publicly attributed the death to a severe reaction to prescribed medication and inadequate care.

“Party Rock Anthem,” released in 2011, became one of the biggest dance hits of the decade, spending six weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Bennett’s powerful vocals contributed significantly to the song’s success.
