BREAKING: SUPER EAGLES RESUME TRAINING AFTER BOYCOTT OVER UNPAID BONUSES
Super Eagles End Training Boycott After NFF Resolves Bonus Dispute
The Super Eagles have resumed training in Morocco after temporarily boycotting Tuesday’s session due to unpaid bonuses ahead of their 2026 World Cup Qualifiers playoff against Gabon.
According to reports from the team’s camp, the players had refused to train in protest over delayed allowances and appearance fees. The standoff, however, was resolved following a meeting between the players and officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Team sources confirmed that both sides reached an understanding, allowing the squad to return to full training on Wednesday as they gear up for Thursday’s crucial clash with the Panthers of Gabon.
“Everything has been sorted out. The players are now focused on the game,” a team insider revealed.
The brief boycott had sparked concern among fans and analysts, given the importance of the upcoming fixture in Nigeria’s quest to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The NFF is yet to release an official statement, but sources say the federation has assured players of prompt payment going forward to avoid similar disruptions.
