BREAKING: RASHIDI LADOJA CROWNED 44TH OLUBADAN OF IBADANLAND
Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, witnessed history today as former governor, Rashidi Ladoja, was crowned the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The coronation took place at the Ose Meji Temple in Ibadan South-East Local Government Area, where Ladoja also earlier received the symbolic Akoko leaf at the Labosinde Compound, Oja’ba.
He is set to be officially presented with the staff and instrument of office by Governor Seyi Makinde at the iconic Mapo Hall in Ibadan. The governor, who had been on annual leave, cut it short to personally attend the coronation ceremony.
Oba Ladoja ascended the throne following the passing of his predecessor, the 43rd Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, who died on July 7, 2025.
The coronation marks a significant moment for the people of Ibadanland, as they celebrate the enthronement of one of the city’s most prominent sons.
