A protest broke out Saturday morning along the Ijebu-Ode–Mojoda–Epe Road, as residents voiced their displeasure over newly imposed tollgate fees introduced by the Ogun State Government.

Demonstrators blocked the busy dual carriageway with tires and wooden planks, causing major disruptions and leaving hundreds of commuters stranded.

The protest began on the Fari Expressway and extended toward Mojoda in Epe, Lagos, significantly affecting traffic flow in the area.

Protesters were seen carrying placards and chanting solidarity songs, expressing their frustration with the toll charges.

A trailer driver, visibly upset, said: “I paid ₦3,000 just this morning. How much do we even earn that they want to take everything from us?”

Another commercial driver, Mr. Odinaka, who joined the protest despite being en route to another destination, said: “I’ll stay here and protest with them. They need to stop extorting struggling Nigerians.”
